Supermarkets & retail

A recent survey found that adults spend on average 18 minutes of each day in a queue. That equates to 273 days of our life aimlessly waiting, with the majority of those days spent within a retail environment. It is this prevalence that has made the British famous for queuing. Recent trends and episodes of ”McRage” indicate that queuing is not a pleasing experience, and there is an increasing intolerance of queues.

Shoppers are willing to pay that little bit extra to avoid queues, and because of this the number of retail outlets are beginning to make an effort to reduce length, and make waiting more enjoyable for the customer. With Lonsto’s help, major retail outlets have incorporated Queue Management Systems for the benefit of both staff and customers.

Lonsto’s extensive experience within the retail sector has advantageously placed us in a position to convey our expertise to potential clients as the demand for customer orientated business is increased.

Lonsto introduced entry level solutions to supermarkets in the early 1970s and these are still being used today. As a result, the layout of delicatessen counters were improved to serve customers quickly and efficiently from a single contact point.

Next time you are in your local supermarket, visit the delicatessen counter and take a ticket.
